when do calls go into heat?

So this is my first time having calls which are my favorite duck breed and my girl Newt will be 4 months old October 18th and I was wondering when she'd go into heat.
I don't know much about ducks and heat and I was wondering if they go into heat at a certain age or if it's only during their mating season.

Also just noticed her longest nail is black-- I don't think it's dirty since all her other nails are clean but I can take a picture. Shes real pretty!

Laying eggs, it depends. She’ll likely wait till spring. She may go broody her first year laying but more likely she’ll do it in her second or third.
