When do Chickens go Broody??

Im very excited becuase I got my first egg today!!!!

My single hen did it!!! :weeeShe lives with 2 rooseters poor girl...But i was wondering... when might she go broody??... Im not allowed to hatch anymore egg so dont worry bout that. I was just wondering. Will it be weeks, months, years? She is 5 months old..if that helps. thanks!!!

Not a clue when she'll go broody but Congratulations to you and your hen. She looks very proud.
 
Some pullets go broody soon after starting to lay, other hens never go broody. Certain breeds are more likely to brood - silkies, cochins, orpingtons being well-known (notorious?) for brooding. I have only every had 2 hens go broody, both Orps. Since then I have stuck with good egg-layers of breeds less likely to brood.
