When do chickens start to lay eggs?

Depending upon the breed and time of year, anywhere from 20 weeks of age to as much as 9 or 10 months of age.

Hi! It was nice of you to get chickens for your granddaughter! Hopefully she regains interest. Maybe if she gets too collect the eggs when they start laying, that will be fun for her.
