How old are pullets and cockerels when they start to get their red face?
I have what are supposed to be two 9 week old buff orpington pullets and their faces are beginning to turn red. I have long suspected that they might be older than that.

Mine are nine weeks one has much more red its got a bigger comb and might be a roo..check out my page to see it let me know what u think

By about 8 weeks or so cockerals of most breeds will have pink faces. Pullets don`t usually color up until just before they start to lay and that also depends on the breed.......Pop

Wow! The comb on your chick is definitely bigger and redder than my chicks. Your's looks like a roo if I had to compare it to mine.

That's bad news for me Pop. That means two thirds of my flock are roos.

We'll wait and see.
