When do duck eggs explode?

Hi. I currently have 4 duck eggs in my incubator. I’m incubating for the first time and they are around day 14. I’ve candled the eggs regularly but I still am not 100% sure if there are chicks in all of them. two I have definitely seen vains and now they are starting to fill out in the egg. Two though I’m not sure about. The inside of the egg seems to be getting darker like the others, but I didn’t see the veins spread out first. My concern is that they are rotten inside and I’ve heard they can explode in the incubator. Is this true and when should I decide not to risk it? Thanks so much!

Sometimes eggs do explode, but it doesn't happen often. Usually you can sniff an egg if you suspect it's bad. It will stink through the shell if it's rotting. I personally wouldn't be too quick to discard any eggs. Nothing worse than getting rid of a bad egg only to realize it had a developing embryo in it.

To help you decide, maybe post Candling pictures? :) GOOD LUCK!! :D
I was gonna try that but I use the flash light on my phone... so not sure! The eggs definitely look different to an infertile egg... pretty sure there is something in there. I just hope it’s developing properly. I have a feeling something isn’t right with them

If they pass the sniff test watch for any color change you can see through the shell. I have had bad ones turn brownish. If I am not sure about an egg I keep it in the incubator but as far away from the good ones as possible.
My bad duck eggs change color too. But before I toss them I candle just in case.

They change color on the outside? I have candles them a few times and they definitely look different to the other duck eggs that haven’t been incubated.
Does the yoke in a rotten egg look different than a yoke in an unfertilized egg when you candle them?
