When do ducks start laying again?

I'm in California waiting on my girls to lay some eggs. O.O lol

Today, I have found the first egg. It was pointy oval. Much thinner than usually, but the size seems to be OK. Shell is hard and white.

I forgot about this poet. My girl laid a clutch and sat . She usually does in December but was late this time around.

if it is related to day light hours, should I have lights for them? it is now about 9 hours of light where I am
