When do Ducks start laying?

I am new to ducks, I was giving 13 mixed breed ducks. I have been reading an I keep hearing about Breeding season but I can not find out when Breeding season starts. Also when do Ducks start laying eggs?

Hi I am new to ducks too,

They are so much fun.
Breeding season is usually in the spring.
Ducks usually pair up in the winter and lay eggs in the spring, but my Pair of Call Ducks are laying eggs now. Two eggs so far.

It depends on the breed. I have a mallard laying sporadically right now. The Muscovies will not start until it is warm. I tried to put together a chart on laying seasons for birds her on B.Y.C. It got a few responses but not enough. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=267519

ya actually my pair of call ducks are laying early. They usually don't lay until the spring.

Is "spring" different for each area. Since I am in Colorado what are the Dates for Spring.

I went out to the Ducks to look around and see if I could find any eggs, and I did!!! I found One.

It was frozen so it is not from today.

My Indian Runner is already laying. I am getting eggs here and there from my Welsh Harlequins. Last year I had a buff and she started laying late February.

My Calls just started this week I have 5 hens laying right now. some standard ducks will start laying the end on February depending on where you are!

I'm new to ducks too, but here in balmy BC my pekins have given us an egg every day and when we checked them for fertility, all were fertile. That's what we're raising in the incubator. Of course they will stay in the house till fully feathered.
