When do eggs get larger?

We had our first egg on 7-29-09. We are not sure which hen or hens are laying but we have now collected 4 eggs. All are very small. I think the RIR would be first to start laying but we did see one Buff Orp. in the laying box but they do not have red combs. Our Black Austalorp did have a red comb but I noticed it looked faded on a day we had found an egg. The oldest group is around 18 weeks this week. How long or how many eggs does it take for them to get to medium or large eggs?
