When do embden geese lay eggs?

Weeee My geese are mating :) After I got home from work at 10pm I got some layers on to keep warm as its very snowy and cold i think it was 0 degrees last night when i was out there for probably an hour i sit in the straw and my canada goose comes and tries to eat my hair and sits on my legs. The video is very dark because of my phone. we do have electric in the shack i call it its a horse shed my sister put up for her horse when she was pregnant and is very well insulated and has rubber mats for a floor i lay down shavings and straw for them. I also have a square bucket I get from my work and i drilled holes in the bottom and put drinking nipples that poultry farms use to keep the bedding dry. cause we all know how ducks and geese love water and get it everywhere. I have a D icer in teh bucket that doesn't get to hot to melt the plastic likes some do and it works perfectly keeps the water warm and keeps the nipples from freezing. since this winter hasn't even had one thaw been below 32 since december normally in Wisconsin we get a few weeks here and there of thawing weather. so very unusual. I went out this morning no egg yet but i am still hopefull and their was alot more mating also today they mated 3 times in an hour and my female touluse he mated with her so I was happy about that i didnt want him to just pair up with my female emdben and she be alone since my canada goose thinks i am his mate. and my other canada thinks his mate is my female cayuga duck. but I really want my canada to make with my female geese. The video is pretty funny at the end he just falls off and onto his back lol made me almost crack up laughing.

and thanks for reading my posts everyone and good luck with your own flocks hope to see more from you all.

It did make me crack up laughing, very nice video, only thing that worried me was that heat light needs to be raised up some, if one of them reached up and grabbed it with their bill or hit it with their wing and knocked it down. Oh my I don't even want to think about it. I know Missy my goose would try her best to pull it down.

I love this thread. I am in the UK and have a pair of Embden, Barry and Yvonne!! We got them about 3 months ago and have had about 12 eggs from them. We took the first 6 out as we planned on eating them and selling them a work, but then realised that we would never use them all so have allowed Yvonne to keep them for now. We know she hatched a gosling last year but sadly squashed it as Embdens are prone to doing so we hope that she will hatch one or more this year that we can bring inside to rear. Incubators/brooder are too expensive here for us, so we hope Yvonne can do what she needs to. It is fascinating to see how she has moved the eggs to where she needs them as I had moved them back to where I thought her best should be and she moved them again. She has covered them well and Barry has been defensive!! He is the most bad tempered goose I know and chased me out my car down my driveway a few days ago!! My three year old has learnt how to shout "Barry, NO!!!" when he hisses at him!!
Good luck with hatching, I look forward to reading your progress and will keep you updated!
