When do guineas stop laying?

My oldest 2 guinea hens are turning 3 at the end of the year (Polkadot & Glossy) and I want to know if they will lay eggs this season. (Note in Australia guineas lay October to March) and I'm wondering how many seasons they have left. Will they lay an egg every second day? Or irregular when they get near the end of lay?

My 3 year old guineas laid eggs this summer and one of them hatched 10 keets. It doesn't seem like I see them on the nest as often as the younger hens but they did lay eggs. I'm not sure how many years they will keep laying. I have 7 and 8 yr old chickens that still lay eggs occasionally so I think guineas will too.

Ok thanks. I was worried that Polkadot would never get a chance to hatch her own eggs. She nests in the bush but she will love to be a mother. Do you have any ideas how to get her to lay in the cage? Or should I make a cage bush out in the yard?

Some of my guineas will lay eggs in the henhouse where they live with the chickens. They would rather have their nests out under the sagebrush or other hidden places but it's not safe to let them brood there. So if I find one of the hens trying to brood I will remove all the eggs and put them in a nest in the henhouse. I did that so many times this season that they finally just started laying inside. It's possible to make a cage in the bush but they want it well hidden and you would have to make sure the cage was closed at night and open it the next morning, But there is no guarantee that a daytime predator wouldn't find them.

Thanks. There aren't many predators around here but I still don't leave my guineas out at night.
Should I catch Polkadot and show her that I'm moving her eggs? Otherwise she might think they're someone else's eggs.
