When do I feed my ducks?

I have two female 8 and half week old ducks. I feed them probably about 5 times a day but they only eat what they want. I lock them up in their pen at about 6:00 pm and I don’t like to feed them in their pen since it gets really messy. If they don’t have food or water from 6:00pm to about 9:00am the next morning will they b
