Guys, this is my first post here.
I got 16 RI Red peeps on April 1st. They are healthy and fun to watch. I have them in a plastic storage tub with a hardware cloth cover and a heating lamp to keep them warm
I am building the coop as we speak and was wondering when I put the chicks in the coop. They will start to outgrow the storage tub in a week and I have set up a second tub so there are 8 per tub.
Again, the question is when do I put them in the coop. BTW, the coop will be 6'X8' and the fenced run will be 25' x 15'.
I live on three acres and I want to free range my girls, but our neighbor in the back has two un-spayed boxers that are held in check with an electronic fence. These are not nice dogs and I am sure that they will kill any of my girls that wander onto their land.
