My chicks will be four weeks old tomorrow.
Nine of my chicks are Red Ranger Broilers and twice the size of my egg layers. I’m slowly transitioning them to meat bird feed and have chick grit mixed directly into the bucket. They are separated in the outside tractor and free range daily. After they finish the bucket I have made can they have normal grit or do they still need chick grit?
The four egg layers will be on chick feed for several more weeks. However, they do go on little field trips outside daily. I do not let them get near the tractor because of the feed combination. I have chick grit mixed into the feed tubes in the brooder. When should I give them normal grit instead of chick sized?
Thanks for the help.
