i have a black jersy giant that i bout at 4 weeks old at a feed store. i was told it was a hen and as far as i could tell i thought it was too. but we went to the feed store today and they still have one of the jersey giants and its a hen it looks completly different and does not have the waddles on bottom but mine does and the comb on top of mine is bigger than the other one at the feed store. my wife says we have roo i still say no who knows what do you think. and when do roos begin to cock o dooodle do

When they get ready to. Anywhere from a few weeks old to more than eight months old. Why not post a pic? I'm sure you'll get your answer real quick thataway.

Yup, the crowing can really happen at any time and depends on the roo. I've had a 2 day old chick belt out a crow and some roos not crow for almost a year. A pic would definitely help.
