When do roosters start to show dominance?

By 14 weeks(actually easiest to tell at 6-8 week) you should be able to tell if there's a male. He may start trying to dominate and mount soon, or not, orps can take longer to mature from what I've read. Likely the older hens will not submit to him, but kick his butt...at least at first, unless he's got great moves.

Thanks so far my only hint is that he has the largest comb, and it's the most red. And his tail feathers curve down a bit. I'll take some pics in a little bit

'Most red' is the biggest clue.
Pullets can have curved tail feathers.

I forget which feathers those are (hackle and saddle, I have to look it up again), but his feathers on his neck are a darker orange than the rest of him, it's reminiscent of a mane in person. And he's the only one of the orps with wattles (?) so far.

He is the most curious of them. He gets up on that box and stares intently at me. He's a bit braver than the other orps too.

Definitely a cockerel compared to the other bird in the second pic...
...don't coddle him but also don't be cowed by him.

Yes he's definitely a roo, a pretty one too. As others have said, don't take any sh#t from him. The best piece of advice i got on here was to walk through him. When ever you are in their run walk through him as if he isn't there, make him move for you, flick him with the side of your boot if he refuses to move out of your way. They learn pretty quick.

I have 2 roo's around 6/7 months of age, I had a feeling they were roo's when they were still tiny as they were very bossy to the other chicks, one just did not like to be picked up either he would scream bloody murder.

they are both bantam breeds. I lost all my other's from a predator in the fall while they were all still young, but what is left was my 2 roo's and my 3 year old hen Sally, who is the queen of the coop she doesn't let anyone boss her, she is also a NH Red so she isn't small.

Once I got them aquanited with my flock (I have 4 ducks too) they pretty much stayed to themselves, however lately Jinx (he has one eye because of the raccoon and is the one that would scream bloody murder) has now started showing his true malehood. He doesn't crow near as much as Bob my D'uccle, (Jinx is a Buff Brahma bantam), he doesn't try to dominate but the other day he started jumping up and pulling at sally's neck feathers, (she ignores it)

so with all that said I think around 5-6 months, but sometimes you can tell when they are still tiny.
