When do silkies start to lay?

When on average do silkies start to lay? I've heard a lot of conflicting information about this.

My silkie (a mix, she's got the feathers but not the dark skin) started laying eggs recently. Some weeks ago at about 22-23 weeks.

Average is 7-9 months with outliers as early as 5 months and some even one year.
