My RIR is almost 10 weeks and sounds like a pretty, little song bird. lol I can't wait for him to start crowing. It's so funny when they first begin.

My Cochin roo will be 3 years old next month and I rarely hear him crow. I'm disappointed. lol I wish he would do it more often.

I have a 13 week old BR. He isn't even trying!! I thought I would have to wait to hear him crow to confirm he's a he, but the way he runs around with his hackle feathers up acting like king of the hill there's no doubt in my mind.

My partridge rock made some odd noises starting at about 10 weeks. He is 13 weeks now and has it down pat. He crows in the morning and when I let them into the run, otherwise he is fairly quiet. I hope the pattern he has continues!

My Freedom Ranger meaties (6 weeks today) have been "crowing" since 4 weeks. It sounds like someone is strangling them, too funny! But definitely a crow. Maybe the two adult roos in the adjacent run have encouraged them?

Our light brahma started to crow at 10 weeks usually just when he gets let out in the morning. However, our OEG bantam started at 13 weeks, once he figured it out he crows all day long.

Our 10 week old EE has been crowing for about 4 weeks. He's pretty regular at 6:15-6:30 am. Which is when we used to turn on the brooder lights each day. They're outside full-time now and he still gives the wake-up call and only sporadically throughout the day. We live in the country on heavily wooded acreage and the sound just "fits." Now our 10 week old RIR is silent. He's going to be gorgeous but so far he sounds like any other chick. Love his big red comb & wattles!

I suppose as a previous poster said, they'll crow when they're good & ready.
