When do they stop laying eggs?

I have 4 Toulouse Geese, mine are already laying, I have 3 females, 1 male...1 Female is done, 2 are still going..Mine lay every other day until they get up to about 11 eggs..When they are done laying they will start to put down feathers in the nest and they will start the incubating process..
But they lay of them before they start staying on the nest and becoming brooding..
Hope this helps!

Here in NC a lot depends on the weather they tend to start early to mid March, Some years we have no real spring, turn off the heat and a week later turn on the A/C my geese usually quit after a week of 90F days if they have not gone Broody before that.

Mine started laying about 6 weeks ago. She laid an egg every other day for two weeks and then decided to set on them. She's been setting nearly a month.

Isn't it amazing how chickens can lay eggs every day but geese, turkeys, etc only lay during a certain time of the year.

I wonder why that is.

Have you seen a goose egg? They are way bigger than a chicken egg...it might take me a couple of days to get motivated to do that again too..hehe

Ours stopped in August or so last year.

They raised a brood of goslings but kept on laying and hatched out 3 goslings at various times, one of them made it to maturity.

all chickens are descendants of the red jungle fowl and the grey jungle fowl. if you get one of these high flying wild chickens, you may only get eggs on a seasonal basis, but the domesticated chickens are frequently bred to maximize their egg laying characteristics, resulting in year round eggs.
