My baby buttons are 2 1/2 weeks old. Their parents have done a great job but now seem to be trying to get away from the little ones - sitting on top of their house. The babies are big enough that when they try climb under the parents they are pushing them around. They have their wing and back feathers in now but not on their bellies yet. What age can they go on their own and when should I move them out.

Personally, I wouldn't move any of them out because they get along well and not pecking each other. But if you want to move them out, I recommend you moving them out when they have enough feathers, can sleep on their own, and not need the mothers warmth.

They can be on their own at three weeks, but if they're outdoors they should still have a heat source until they get all of their adult feathers.

5-6 weeks in the brooder, gradually lowering the temp to room temp, so I would either move them to one or leave them be. The parents are just taking a break...wouldn't you?
