Hi I have 20 chicks I bought straight run at an auction in March. They are production reds a little over 3 months old. Im fairly certain about half of them are roosters. I also have 4 young buff orp pullets same age and 10 barred rock pullets and one barred rock roo. So I believe I'll end up with around 20-25 hens. I was planning to keep maybe 3 roosters does that sound like the right ratio? And at what age should I thin the others which I will put in the freezer? I havent seen any of them fighting yet.
