No, don't do that. They don't need the extra calcium until they're actually laying eggs.

I think they are close to laying. After mine were laying for a while I have been giving them 22% protein feed and oyster shell in a separate pan. They have access to the feed and oyster shell all the time. They regulate themselves. They are laying like mad even during this miserably cold Michigan winter and long nights. I expected them to slow down but they didn't.
