I have a FCM about 7 weeks maybe 8 Weeks old

and he crowed today for the first time

it was short and sweet but defo a crow

my other cockrels are not crowing yet they are also 7-8 weeks old

when is it usual for a cock to crow

i tell ya though it was music to my ears to hear him crow

My new Rhode Island Red just started making a coughing sort of attempt. He is 10 weeks. It's so cute. He's so serious, it's hilarious!

it is very cute to listen to that rough crow

my legbar who is also about 8 weeks tried to mount my buff orp 5 week old yesterday

that was hilerious to watch

he just fell over and my buff was like what the... was that all about

lol

I have 3 roosters in my flock that are just beginning to make that strangled sound. It is a crow, but it sounds all broken and garbled. So funny! The boys are growing up!

My silkie rooster did not crow till about 10 months, but my cochin was crowing at 4 months. the first time I heard Fufu start to crow I thought he was dying or something

Green Bean ( the cochin) had been crowing for months and the sound Fufu made was VERY strange and caused me to run over to the coop and see if there was a fox or hawlk or something, all I found was a silkie rooster looking at me like what do you want and procided to for lack of a better term "crow" agian, He has now figured it out but man they can sound terrible, my friends silke sounded bad at first too

i tell you though regardless of how they start to sound

a chicken flock with out a rooster crowing is like having a roast dinner without gravy

i love the sound of my roo's crowing

My chicks are 10-11 weeks old and what I believe is a roo hasn't made a peep! I am waiting to hear him attempt....and nothing! I was also wondering when he would start so Thanks to OP for posting this! If they crow later does that typically mean they will be more of a "quiet" roo ?
