when does a rooster start mating?

Im curious because my 8 week old black sex-link rooster was mating with one of my other 8 week old pullet!!!

I thought they were playing but when he got on top of her.... Did that really happened or am i just going crazy?

i always thought roos mature quicker than hens.

I had a six week old crow, mate and show so much testosterone in his behavior I I culled him! He was horrible.
