I have a rooster "teenager" and he has started to mount the hens. He is 10 weeks old. I told him that I thought he should wait for marriage but that didn't stop him.

LOL It all depends on the boy. Ive had boys wait until well into thier teens, others as early as 7 weeks old!! That hen was not happy at all LOL:lol:

I seperate my roos from the hens about the time they start pestering the hens. The hens need to concentrate on maturation. I don't breed a hen until about 6 to 8 weeks after she starts laying eggs. And then I sometimes put a 3 foot by 4 foot cage in the yard with him in it and wait for a hen to express intrest before putting her in. Once the deed is done successfully. I'll let her out and wait for her to express interest again. It keeps my hens from being torn up and the rooster has to dance to get the girls interested.
