My chicks were hatched in the beginning of May. It looks like 7 of 8 are laying now, and the last one is close. Right now I'm getting between 5-7 eggs daily. I thought as the daylight decreases I should see a drop in egg production? I need to start selling eggs as my fridge is filling up at an alarming rate. Some breeds especially in their first year will lay through the winter even without supplemental lighting. These same birds next year after a molt may take a break.
