when does the 21 days start for eggs???

Hello my hen just started laying on her clutch of eggs yesterday i was wondering do you count the 21 day count from the first egg laid or does it start from the first day she sits on them

Thanks so much....i was was about to give up on her incubating them the previous owner has hatched eggs with her and i actually own her daughter as well and but 16 eggs later i was losing hope than yestetday as i went to check up on them i couldnt find her she was actually sitting and is sitting again today now time will tell i guess on what happens

baby chicks are here went out of town yesterday with three hatched and one on the way checked this morning and we have 10 babies doing well one still on the way and one was sadly born with its insides hanging out so sent it to chick farm in the sky...mommy is being protective of course and rooster is still making sure no one bothers them

Just love watching a hen teach her brood. The chicks get the best of the he earwigs every morning.

Thank you guys her the 11 chicks are doing good i do have a question i been feeding non medicaded feed the feed store only has medicaded right now is it okay if i feed them that wondering because mom and babies are being housed togther
