I have been using this all natural food dye i got in the health food store to do the tops of my A&M quail for sexing and such. works really well and I doint worry about any chemical dyes in there these are all made from plants and such. only 3 colors though but blue purple and orange so its good.
This is where you lose me. There are plenty of poisonous plants out there. How do we know the colors are safe just because they came from plants?

I would have to get the box but they are natural occuring dyes (i think that is why they have them in limited colors) but dont have red dye number 5 and such in them. I think of it as the natural dyes used back in the day for fabrics, probably blueberries, and other strong colored fruits. Yes there are many poisioness plants but these are for baking so I know they are not harmful.
I got them for making cakes and such since I do the organic thing and will swear that the chemical dyes in foods cause my son to become fussy and cranky and the natural dyes dont. I avod all foods with red dye in them since there have been studies to this effect.

HMMM now, I had not thought about how I would like to be rubbed with dye. Might be nice if it was a cool tan color. I am sort of a whitey, so a nice tan would be good!!!
