When I Let My Chickens Free Range...

It seems like when I let my chickens free range (even if it's just for an hour or two) their poo just looks more "normal"to me. It's weird. It's been just 2 days since I last let them free range and thier poo looks loose and yucky right now. As some of you may know, I've had poo issues with my chickens anyway, but it does seem to just look better on the days I let them out to do their own thing. Why is this

They are probably getting more protien and other nutrients from a well balanced diet of bugs and greens. And maybe not so much of the poo gets in them from pecking at clean ground instead of the ground in the run which would be full of it.(if you know what I mean)

Well, it's suppose to be like, 70 degrees here in VA tomrrow and I cannot wait so I can let them free range a bit.
