When is day 18?

Helping my kindergartener's class hatch some eggs and trying to do the math on hatching.

The eggs started incubating Monday morning May 15. Is that considered day 1 or day 0? Trying to figure out which day they should be removed from the turner and put into lockdown. Looking at the calendar - would that be Thursday morning June 1 or Friday June 2?

Day 1 starts 24 hours after the eggs have been set. Day 18 will be June 2nd.
