When is it best to release quail into the wild?

Hey all! I have 7 Valley Quail that are almost a few months old. The whole purpose was to raise them and then release them when they became “adults”. Is there a certain time of year that’s best to release them?

Hey all! I have 7 Valley Quail that are almost a few months old. The whole purpose was to raise them and then release them when they became “adults”. Is there a certain time of year that’s best to release them?

Check with your local game warden or DNR agent. It is illegal to release birds into the wild without a special permit. In addition domestically raised birds do not normally do well in the wild and can be very susceptible to predators.
