@casportpony what different kinds of poultry do you have? I feel like I could learn a lot from you!

She’s still not doing the greatest. Her rattles come and go and she still can’t stand. You can tell that she does feel better she calls out now when she knows I’m around but I don’t know how to help her stand. Any thoughts?I have been giving her the medicine, today will make the third day. The rattles have decreased significantly and she has perked up and is definitely eating more, but she still can’t stand up. Is this something that will get better with time? She has been sick for a very long time and hasn’t been able to stand for a while so I didn’t know if maybe it would work itself out as she gets her strength back or if she may never stand again. Thanks again for telling me where to get her an antibiotic, I would’ve never known if I hadn’t asked!
That’s stinks! I didn’t know she was a meat turkey until we were way too attached to her! I hate the thoughts of putting her to sleep now but I don’t want her to suffer. When you call out to her you wouldn’t think she is suffering because she calls out but when you get closer you can hear the rattles and if she tries to stand she goes backwards until she falls over. It’s such a tough decision to make.If your chickens got it sick then it most likely has mg and theres no cure for that. I use to have a meat turkey but she flipped over and had a heart attack i wasnt no where near to notice in time. She was suppose to be thabksgiving dinner lol
When mine died i did process her and gave her to my dogs at the time so she wouldnt be wasted. Mine would follow me around and bow my gander hated her he tore chunks out of her tailThat’s stinks! First let me say I do NOT know turkeys, and I am NOT an expert on illnesses - however, I read and research a lot - and what you describe sounds like there might be more than one problem going on. Possible vitamin deficiency? I know you've been giving various supplements, but maybe it's just not enough of what she really needs. That’s stinks! In your opinion, what would you do in this situation? When mine died i did process her and gave her to my dogs at the time so she wouldnt be wasted. Mine would follow me around and bow my gander hated her he tore chunks out of her tail
Barnyard chaos has a very good suggestion, are you going to try the b complex? In your opinion, what would you do in this situation?
I can give it a try. She doesn’t really seem to be in any pain, she just makes a lot of noise when she breathes and can’t walk. I can’t see why it would hurt to try it I mean she’s made it this far.Barnyard chaos has a very good suggestion, are you going to try the b complex?
