We have had a succesful couple of years raising layers and turkeys in our backyard and are now getting 20 cornishX on August 25.
I plan on raising them in a tractor on grass, but am wondering if and when they will be interested in food other than grains?
I have access to lots of bread and veggie and meat scraps from a restaurant, and would like to save a couple bucks by supplementing their feed with scrap.
Will this affect their growth rate negatively? I plan to process them @ 10 weeks.
    Thanks for your ideas.

You can give it to them whenever you'd like with no problems.

You probably don't want more than about 20% of their diet to be greens, though.

Mine liked pasta and tomato sauce, watermelon, and mac and cheese.
    Didn't like turnip greens.
