I live in NH and we have lost near half of our brood - due to varmits mainly. We are down to 19 from 28. My girls are 19 wks. Is it too late to get chicks for NH? Will the other girls pick on them once they are out of the brooder? I was thinking about getting just 9 or 10. (I wouldn't mind already growing chicks but the 30day isolation would be hard to do with a growing chick.)
What about broilers? Can I get them and harvest over the winter? Is there a processor in So NH? (I know I would not be able to do the deed.)
