When mixing younger chicks to the older birds, what feed do I feed them?

I am curious, my chicks will be 5 weeks old next week and we will be putting them into the coop. We are also getting a silkie pullet that is about 6 months old and she will be in with them. So, what is best to feed them all? Or should have have two types offered to them?

I would guess you're feeding the chicks a high protein (18%+) starter feed. You could offer the pullet layer (16%), but, she will prefer the starter you are feeding the chicks. I would continue feeding everybody the starter and provide some oyster shell, for the older pullet. The younger chicks won't likely eat it, until they need it.
The young hen will eat what she needs.

Thanks! That makes sense! I will make sure to pick up some oyster shell this week.
