I am a really nervous first time peep mommy. We have a pipper and I don't know if it needs help or I need patience?
It had a crack last night about 11pm and this morning at 6:30am the hole was about the size of a nickel. The chick is breathing and is not panting or anything. Should I just continue to watch. My humidity dropped a bit in the night but I have it back up to around 60%.
My kids are going to be so excited when they get up
Chicks can take 24 hours or longer after they pip an egg to hatch out. They are resting, learning to breathe and absorbing the rest of the yolk sac. Patience!!! Don't open the bator he will make it out just fine.
