When people say it's a partridge???

She is probably too young still Not all the chickens look exactly a like but the clor should be buff with brown and black in it. It doesnt look like any other breed I dont think,,,,just silkie partridge. look up on feathersite,,,,chickens,,,,,silkies

Partridge and Quail are two distinct colors.

Here's one of my Partridge Cochin chicks

More Partridge colored chickens here:

Males and females are colored differently.

Some Quail colored chickens here:

Both colors are found in several different breeds. Both very pretty I think.

I JUST got a little partridge Silkie yesterday, and it is very dark, but you can see the partridge colors on the head and the little markings. I think they can really vary as chicks, color wise.

I think that the partridge silkies are named after the color partridge over in Europe. Over there they call black breasted red partridge which is what the partridge silkies here look like. The US partridge silkies have no pencilling like partridge rocks, the females are simply a dak brown bird with some black in the tail and a salmon-ish colored breast. I'm sorry if I made that more confusing for you pattee but its just my thoughts.
