Hey, my chicks are about 5-7 days old. When should I introduce grit into their cage. I was told just to sprinkle it around their box, they will know what to do with it. Is that true? I also bought a cage/coop that will last them 6 months. The roost is a round stick about 1 inch in diameter. They are out growing their little brooding box could I move them to that?

As long as the new box is draft free and can be kept warm, go ahead and move them. A flat roost would probably be better than a round stick because they sit rather than hold the perch. As for grit, you don't need it unless you give them treats. If you do give it, in a dish or over food is fine. If they have access to soil that has some rocks in it, you don't need the grit either.
