When should I cull ?

Out of six chickens(I was told they were all hens), three turned out to be roos. I can't have roos in my county. I haven't been able to give them away and now they've started crowing. I'm trying to hold off but I think the neighbors are taken notice. If I get a noise complaint then my whole flock is at jeopardy. They were born 3-21-11. When can I cull?

You can cull anytime you like. People like to wait until they are 18 months but you might have to sacrifice a little size in this case. They might only be the size of cornish hens, I don't know, but to answer your question, whenever you need to.

Good question. I don't have the same problem as you but I do have some extra roos that I need to cull and they are very young. I'm not sure when I should cull either.
