Hello,
My girls are 19weeks and I was wondering when should I get the nesting boxes ready?I have 2 Plymouth Barred Rocks,2 Easter Eggers,1 black sex link and 1 Speckled Sussex if that helps at all.

Start now. Be prepared.. Your variety is common to start somewhere about 24 weeks.. Some sooner and some later.

WISHING YOU BEST

I'd get them ready now. That way the pullets can become familiar with them before they actually start to lay.

Yep, time to set them up!

Make sure the nests are lower than the roosts by about a foot....
....or they will try to roost(sleep) in them and poop them up.

If they do try to sleep in nests, break them of the habit pronto.....
.....by blocking the nests at dusk until after dark(easier) or removing them from nests and putting them on the roosts after dark.
