When should I introduce my chicks to my dogs?

I have a 75 lb Anatolian Shepard that is two years old and a 30 lb Boston that is five. I just got four chicks last week and I was wondering when I should hold the chicks around the dogs so they can get used to them and recognize that they are not food. Also, if anyone has any experience training their Anatolians as livestock guarders (since that is what the breed was bred for) that would be amazing!

Depends on your dogs and their temperment/obedience. I'd suggest waiting until the chicks get closer to full-grown size. That way there's less of a chance that the dogs see them as bite-sized treats or squeeky toys

Yeah that is what I am thinking. My Boston happened to hear them chirping in the bathroom and was too curious for my comfort. Once they get bigger I don't think he will think of them as treats. lol
