When should I start expecting eggs?

A chair will do. It can be set on its side. Out in the open, not against a fence. You don't want a chick to get trapped behind it, you want it to be able to duck behind it and then disappear. A sheet of plywood or a pallet, leaned up agaist a fence to make an open-ended tunnel. A table, or an old coffee table that they can climb on. NOT near your fences so they can't use it as a launch pad to get over the fence into the neighbor's yard. A kid's outgrown old swing set. That kind of thing.

Does anyone have any ideas of what leftover things I can use for clutter? And also, where should I put it? How many chicks should supposably fit under there? Other than that, thanks everyone for your input!
The link I provided has many of examples of junk for a run, plus pointers about placement. One very important thing with placement is to ensure there's no dead ends, in my setup: All obstacles against a wall have extra openings cut out to give low ranked birds/young chicks an extra escape route.
