When should I start Layer feed?

I will be using Dumor 16% Layer feed. It says on the package that I should start feeding it to them at 18 weeks, but I was wondering if I could start feeding it to them about a week early if I run out of grower feed?

I've been told that you should start feeding layer when the chickens are at least 16 weeks old, so 17 weeks should be fine.

I think that it is fine if you begin feeding them layer feed at around 17 weeks of age. Or you can wait until they begin laying (that is what I do).
