That I brought home a new chick yesterday!

He still doesn't know and the kids didn't leak out the news. I even separated the 4 big girls in a seperate dog kennel. I have the two little ones together.

I took my chances and brought home a Mille Fluer D'Uccle straight run. I'm praying for a pullet!

The kids named "her" Muffin.

Well, when will he notice? Mine would never know the difference. But if he will notice and will care, then probably sooner because the kids will leak it out soon enough if they are like my daughter.

Id let him figure it out on his own

When he finally spots.the chick and says " hey, where'd that thing come from. Did you buy more chickens?" You simply reply " I have no idea what you're talking about, that chick has always been here!" Usually works for me

I run my house by "better to ask for forgiveness than permission" However I think my kids are learning that trick

HA! This is what I did! LOL! Snuck her in the house w/ my groceries and slipped her into the box! LOL! A couple days later he says, "I thought we had six chicks, where did 7th come from?" What there is seven? hmmm weird! he he he!

I just broke down and told him. He wasn't upset. Dh asked my 10 year old if I brought home a chick last night and she said no. She was covering up for me, which I told her not to do. He was surprised I bought from straight run. He also thought I was going to buy a frizzle.

I want so many breeds of chickens and I wouldn't mind if my flock was a little bigger. If my D'Uccle is in fact a roo, I will have to replace with two I guess. 7 is our limit as far as the chicken run goes. Our coop holds 12.

You did the right thing. We wonder why in our society we have so many marital problems..then problems with our kids....because so many marriages get caught up with the little foxes that spoil the vine.

I didn't want to say anything becuase I didn't want to tick you off...but lying to our spouse is wrong, period. We need to have more respect for our mate than our desire to have something. I am glad you made this right.

I do have a really great husband. I broke my neck 3 years ago(34yrs old), herniated 3 discs with spinal cord compression. and he has stood by my side and has been extremely supportive. He puts up with my limitations and tries to understand what it's like to live in severe chronic pain. I'm very fortunate to have him. I would never lie to him, I just wouldn't mention it unless he asked.
