I have 2 cornish x's, 2 RIR's, and don't know what the other 4 are, but they don't roost at night and they don't go in the coop during the day or even check out the nesting boxes. I did put a golf ball in the boxes, but no one seems interested. Will they start to lay soon (judging by pics) do you think? They haven't laid elsewhere, I have searched high and low. How do I get them to go in boxes? Is it something they know by instinct? They are free range chickens (fenced in 1/4 acre). I am not positive of their age, as I got them at auction, but they look full grown??
