Garlicson,
First let me put in my disclaimer....I am a newby!!! My oldest chickens are 23 weeks and I had them since they were 3 days old. Mines also love the outside.
Is your coop set up such that they can come and go inside the coop whenever they want to or do you have to manually put them inside the coop. I have also read where you should lock them inside the coop for a time to get them use to their new home so they will know that this is where they sleep. Im sure others more experienced will be able to probably give you a more reasonable answer. This is just what I have read. My coop is where they can go inside and out on their own. I use to worry because when I placed them in the coop, they would not go back inside the coop.....I was advised not to worry about it that they know what they want to do and that was the best advice I could have ever gotten.

It can take some time for chickens to get used to a new place. You did the right thing by putting them in the coop by hand. After spending a few nights inside they will soon learn to go in on their own.
