When to bring chickens inside due to heat.

Thank you all for the great input. I guess I felt in my gut bringing them in would not be a good idea.
I purchased a shade cloth for the coop (already have one for the run) to keep the afternoon sun off and will mist the coop in early evening to try to cool it off some more. I feel so bad for the girls, particularly my white Wynadotte. She is so heavily feathered.

I wouldn't bring them in.

Get a fan, or ...
Give them a pan of water, or make a mud hole for them ... they will cool off with their feet.

My coop is connected to it's predator protected run, which itself is well shaded. So when the weather gets hot I can leave the people doors open giving my ladies an extra 12 SqFt of ventilation. I also installed a mister on the ceiling of their run which I can turn on when temps get above 90F (32C).

I lost 1 pullet to the heat wave of a couple of years ago, and I don't want a repeat of that.

I wouldn't but I don't spoil mine as much as a lot of others do. I just make sure there's plenty of shade and fresh cool water.
Bad enough dealing with a spoiled wife. Just put AC in her car last week when it neared 100° ....

Should of never started spoiling her with putting the wood burning pot belly stove and wood rack in the back seat area last winter.
You know how women are they want all the bells and whistles.
Not going down that road with the chickens.
