When to call it quits?

I set 10 of my own eggs very late on last Saturday. I am discouraged because I don't see much happening. Should I call it quits or give it another day or so? There are two (egg number 2 and egg number 6) that show a tiny bit of veining but it should probably be more than that by now, right?

It looks like you're candling through the bottom of the egg, and you're not going to see accurately what is going on that way. Candle from the top through the air cell.

Yep turn it over to look, and don't give up the first week you're not going to see much action going on.

I'd wait until at least Day 10 before giving up. And yes - candle through the air cell end.

Okay great thank you! I tried from the top and they looked a tiny bit different (but maybe I was just hoping they looked better lol) I guess we will see in a few more days.

I agree with everyone else, you don't see much that early and go from air sac with light. Even ones I think have stopped I keep in a couple more days just to be sure. I'm new to incubating and have lost a few and had a few more that weren't fertilized...hold off til you're confident nothing's happening in there or there's sure signs like a blood ring. Everyone hates to toss one out that may be still alive in there.
