when shoul I candle ? and how?

Thank you guys

Not much hope for candling. You can see if there is a chick or not, but you will rarely see any detail. Your best chance is around day 12 or later.

Thank you Robo

By the way I checked on your site

I liked those Tuxedo Quails

Are they same size as the Courtix quail?

do you have fertile eggs for sale at this time ?

I candle coturnix eggs before I set them, to get rid of any eggs with micro fractures. (Could be why I have never had a coturnix egg explode or even vent) I will candle at 7 days, just for the heck of it, but I'm with JJ. Just set it and forget it.

They are the same size, and I just so happen to have eggs. Tuxedo is just a color mutation of the coturnix.

Coturnix are coturnix are coturnix!

They come in various sizes, colors and what ever. You can mix them up how ever you like.

The sad fact of the matter is.....Tuxedo coturnix can not be line bread. You will be stuck with a certain amount of Non-Tuxedo birds. Even that is dicey!

Stupid coturnix genes! Go figure
