When is the appropriate time to candle duck eggs?

I have done ducks before. I candled at day 8 and 14. This was 3 years ago and i had mallards. The eggs were dark but i saw through them okay. What kind of ducks are u hatching.

I usually do them on days 14 & 21. They will typically hatch around day 28.

I useally check at day 7 incase i have bad eggs in there .. i do this mainaly cuz i have a ton more eggs sitting waiting for room in the bator . this way i weed out bad ones and more go in . then i do it again about 18 or 19 . then at day 25 i do as they go into my hatcher .
