Excuse me but Miss Prissy is right.They do need to be at least 16 weeks old.Then when you put them in there let them eat like the others eat.Our hens eat Purina Layena Crumbles,mixed with laying mash.And then we offer them sunflower seed,and oyster shells.But we also give them fresh grass,and some fresh greens from garden if we have them.But about a month before we put ours in with the hens we mix a little of the laying mash with the crumbles so they will get used to eating that.And too if you give them laying mash to soon,it will mess their stomachs up,believe me!!!
